Making the Most of CBT to Manage Your Menopause Symptoms

Keep hearing about CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) and want to know more? Catch up on our free webinar with menopause specialist Dr Clare Spencer and CBT expert Darren Woodward, from therapy specialists livelife.

While hormone replacement therapy (HRT) is the go-to treatment for millions of menopausal women, new draft updated guidelines from the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) highlight cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), a talking therapy, as an effective option that can be offered to women alongside or instead of HRT. CBT can be helpful if there are lingering symptoms of the menopause while on HRT, or could be offered where a woman does not want to take HRT or where it has been deemed to be too risky.

Many women are surprised when they hear this, and in this free webinar Dr Clare and CBT expert Darren Woodward, from therapy specialists livelife, discussed:

  • what CBT actually is
  • how it works
  • the menopause symptoms – both physical and psychological – it can help with
  • how many sessions it takes to make a difference
  • how to find a good CBT practitioner

We had a fantastic audience who asked some great questions, and we’ve also pasted the links that were shared in the chat below.
