J’s My Menopause Centre review
J’s My Menopause Centre review describes her experience of finding our Facebook community, booking an online consultation with Dr Surya Gupta-Wright, and getting support for perimenopause symptoms. We’re grateful she’s shared her story.
J’s experience of perimenopause care
J shared her story in 2023.
“After struggling immensely for the last few years, and feeling completely ignored by my GP, I stumbled across My Menopause Centre after searching online for help with Perimenopausal symptoms. Initially, I joined their Facebook group and when I realised I could book an online appointment with a specialist, I knew I had to do it.
Dr Surya was kind and compassionate and I genuinely felt that she wanted to help me. Having 45 minutes to talk in-depth about my symptoms with a specialist, compared to the rushed 5 minutes I got at my local GP clinic, made all the difference. I now have a plan in place for treatment and feel reassured that I’m not going mad.
I realise that paying for a private consultation might not be possible for everyone, but I honestly feel like it’s the best money I’ve ever spent. Plus, I don’t have to fund my treatment privately as the doctor sent a detailed report and prescription to my GP, allowing me to obtain it via the NHS.
I’m very grateful to Dr Surya and to Lindsey, the Patient Liaison Manager, who has helped me through the booking and follow-up process, and made me feel very welcome and cared for. Fantastic Service. Thank you all!”
A note on prescriptions: You can ask your NHS GP to consider treatment recommended after a private consultation. They’ll make their own prescribing decision, taking account of your needs and local NHS guidance, so NHS prescriptions aren’t guaranteed.
