My consultation with My Menopause Centre was tailored exactly for my needs. I was able to provide a good level of relevant information up front to support discussions – and to ask questions throughout. At the end of the consultation I feel we had covered everything that we set about to discuss. I also had a clear understanding of my options in terms of treatment and what to expect next.
The output of my consultation was a letter to me and to my GP surgery, capturing the details, made reference to the relevant guidelines to support understanding for me as a patient (and also any healthcare professional reading the letter) and the treatment options. This provided a great starting point for a comprehensive discussion with the practice nurse.
I am quite certain that for many reasons (pandemic, appointment duration, sufficient training/knowledge/experience) it would be difficult to have the same level of input just through my general practice alone. My consultation provided information and guidance to support decision making about my treatment and current/future health.
