Dr Ramiya Al-Alousi

Dr Ramiya Al-Alousi is a BMS (British Menopause Society) registered menopause specialist and GP, and graduated from the University of Leicester in 2009. She undertook her medical training in both Leicester and Middlesbrough, during which time she became drawn to women’s health when she noticed how much of a difference can be made to help women through the challenges of both the fertile years and beyond. She is a fitter of both the contraceptive coils and implants, as well as a diplomat of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. She went on to train in an NHS menopause clinic where she treated women with complex medical backgrounds, and went on to gain the Advanced Menopause Care Certificate from the Faculty of Reproductive and Sexual Health.

She is a passionate advocate for women’s health and through her gentle, friendly and empathic approach, you can rest assured that no symptom or problem is too big or embarrassing, and she will endeavour to make you feel comfortable and at ease. She believes menopause affects everyone in different ways and enjoys sharing tailored discussions with women to ensure that they feel fully informed and able to choose exactly the right option for them.

She also enjoys medical writing, having written several patient and professional education resources for the Primary Care Women’s Health Forum and their journal, Her Life Her Health, and is regularly involved in teaching peers on all things menopause and women’s health related.
