Listen to My Menopause Centre's co-founder Helen Normoyle in conversation with the fabulous @karen.newby.nutritionist. Karen is a Brighton-based nutritionist who specialises in women's hormone health and is an advocate of using the power of food to manage menopause symptoms.
In this video Karen discusses just why it can be so hard to lose weight when you hit menopause, what the rollercoaster effect of too much sugar in your diet is, the importance of a protein-rich breakfast, how phytoestrogens in our diet can help with symptom management, why alcohol impacts menopausal women differently (‘alcohol is liquid sugar’) and why fasting could be good for you.
Make sure you keep watching until the end, when she talks about brain health and brain fog and the connection with our gut (‘our second brain’).
